Here are nine simple ways to care for your skin and protect yourself from the sun’s powerful rays. ☀️

Sunshine brings life to flowers, laughter to faces, and light to our days. Still, even the sunflower knows to turn wisely. Let your self-care bloom — one thoughtful step at a time.

As this Zen proverb explains: “Touch the hole in your life, and there flowers will bloom.”

  • Apply a broad-spectrum sunscreen with SPF 15 or higher.
  • Reapply sunscreen every 2 hours, even on cloudy days.
  • Wear tightly woven clothing like long sleeves and pants.
  • Choose a wide-brimmed hat and UV-blocking sunglasses.
  • Seek shade whenever possible, especially midday.
  • Avoid reflective surfaces — they can bounce 85% of UV rays.
  • Protect your children with sunscreen (6+ months) and limited sun exposure.
  • Check your shadow: if it’s shorter than you, seek shade.
  • Skip tanning beds. They're not worth the risk.
