~ #79 ~ Daily Celebrations' 5th Anniversary
Silver Heart Charm Bracelet
The idea began simply enough, five years ago. Find a way to celebrate life every day and use my database of quotations to lay the foundation for each celebration. So here I am, five years later, with an archive of over 1800 celebrations and even more quotations. And a heart full of pride and gratitude. Yogi Berra once said, "I want to thank everybody who made this day necessary." On that note, I'd like to thank everyone who made this site necessary. My family and friends in Hawaii, my family and friends in North Carolina, my family and friends all over the world. The site has allowed me to share with them daily ...AND stay "connected" no matter where I am. "Neither a lofty degree of intelligence nor imagination nor both together go to the making of genius. Love, love, love, that is the soul of genius." ~ Amadeus Mozart When I started Daily Celebrations, I knew nothing about html or the way that the Internet worked. My partner, my sponsor, my own personal programmer, Steven, walked me through the process and wrote specialized programs to streamline my site.
The site has a life of its own. I could never have brought this dream to fruition without him. "Gratitude can transform common days into thanksgivings, turn routine jobs into joy, and change ordinary opportunities into blessings." ~ William Arthur Ward
The learning and blessings never stop. Last week I did a celebration on Enrico Caruso which I stuggled with at first then transformed into a strong celebration. There is so much joy in my heart in the creation of this website. I am in love with the process and delivery. So we will continue together, you and I, perhaps for five more years. To spread the spirit that each day IS a celebration of passionte colors, with things to learn and get excited about. Please visit often. Share the site with others.
"If a man does not keep pace with his companions, perhaps it is because he hears a different drummer. Let him step to the music he hears, however measured or far away." ~ Henry David Thoreau
