Mother Teresa: Life of Devotion
Mother Teresa of Calcutta (1910-1997) is one of my own personal heroes because of her endless dedication to the poor and destitute.
Full of grace, she lived her life with joyful self-giving. She is a perfect inspiration for this Holiday season. "Every time you smile at someone, it is an action of love, a gift to that person, a beautiful thing," she said. ONLY BY GIVING... It's not how much you spend, it's not what you buy, it's the gift that comes from the heart. What gift is greater than the giving of oneself?
Social activist Cesar Chavez (1927-1993) was known for organizing the first successful union of farm workers and his commitment to nonviolent resistance. Chavez knew that every good act is charity; good works are alms. PORTION OF THYSELF... The true meaning of Christmas is love. Try to lower your expectations and just give freely of yourself. Use the time you have alone to reflect and focus inward. Celebrate the time you share with others by giving a portion of yourself. What could be more special than that?
"To give without any reward, or any notice, has a special quality of its own." ~ Anne Morrow Lindbergh Pure giving will open the door to your own abundance. Give without any hope of receiving. Find joy in helping others. GIVE WITH JOY... Is there any better way to give? Give freely. What a perfect opportunity to share the good things in life with others! Spread joy with your smile...
"In the world there is too much hatred, too much fighting. We will not be able to put them away with guns or bombs or any kind of weapons that wounds. We will attain that only through gestures of love, joy, and peace." ~ Mother Teresa
It is my deepest belief that only by giving our lives do we find life." ~ Cesar Chavez
The only gift is a portion of thyself." ~ Ralph Waldo Emerson
There are those who give with joy, and that joy is their reward. It is well to give when asked, but it is better to give unasked, through understanding. And to the open-handed the search for one who shall receive is joy greater than giving. ~ Kahlil Gibran
