~ #67 ~ Spring
Mindful Living
Hooray: Spring is here. Thursday, March 20, the Vernal Equinox, was the first day of Spring in the Northern Hemisphere. At the equator, night and day are the same length, each lasting exactly twelve hours. "Spring... An experience in immortality," said writer and transcendentalist Henry David Thoreau. WHEN SPRING COMES...
The Vernal Equinox was named for the goddess of spring, Eostre. Some say Ancient Pagans offered her cake and colored eggs on this day. Eostre is also the fertility goddess and goddess of the East, the direction of the sunrise and rebirth. "Life stands before me like an eternal spring with new and brilliant clothes," said German mathematician Carl Friedrich Gauss. FACE OF SPRING... Spring is a time of hope and spiritual renewal. Life is full of wonder and expectation. Make today a celebration of miraculous change, growth, and endless possibilities. We each have the promise of Spring in our hearts.
