Oh goodness.
I'm not advocating sin, but there's nothing wrong with being a little naughty, taking life a little lighter, especially when you are looking for a way to feel better.
"I look better, feel better, make love better, and Ill tell you something else I never lied better," quipped comedian George Burns.
In times of trouble, we all look for a wee bit of comfort to make the heart glow...
"Luxury need not have a price, said designer Geoffrey Beene. "Comfort itself is a luxury."
Take the time to be selfish. Take a break from the images on TV and the daily grind. Just reward yourself, because you're worth it:
Buy flowers;
Experiment in the kitchen;
Devour the biggest hot fudge sundae you can find;
Blare some upbeat music;
Splurge on a spa treatment with massage;
Get tickets to a ballgame;
Flirt with a stranger;
Get out into nature--hike, bike, walk--and celebrate the glory of what's outside;
Get a pedicure; and,
Count your blessings. Isn't it wonderful to be alive?
