I'm so happy that I found your site.. It truly is inspirational. I was saddened recently by the death of a friend and needed something to give me a lift.. That's when I found it..
I'm a middle school teacher in Connecticut and we're always looking for quotations, etc for our students. I'm amazed at the number of quotations you have. Trees
I am doing an Adopt a Tree project ... (for future elementary school teachers) at Long Beach City College, in California. The basic point of the project is to observe a tree for 2 months, and learn everything I can about it. I chose the lemon tree in my backyard--so I get to make lemon bars to bring to the class.
I am supposed to do research about lemon trees, and also find any cool poems, songs, stories, etc. about my tree. Although your poem is about trees in general and not lemon trees in particular, I feel it will be a cool addition to my project. I like your poem because of the spiritual imagery.
Now when I observe my tree, I think of your poem, and can see what you mean! Thanks for letting me include your poem in my project! ~ Michelle S.

Thank you. I came across your site the day before I discovered one of my students had stolen a $300 camera from me (for me, a lot of money). My initial reaction was anger. Before the class came in today, I read the page on compassion on your web site. I then asked God to guide my words, and instead of lashing out in anger, I expressed my hurt and sadness at the violation of trust. I may never get the camera back, but at least I dealt with it on a soul level. Again, thank you. Aileen
