"Our first, our greatest, our most relentless purpose is peace. For without peace there is nothing." ~ Adlai Stevenson

John Lennon's Imagine

Today’s newsletter was inspired by a conversation I had with a “stranger” I met on a flight home from Florida in September. Lovely Helen Dahlhauser told me about the peace garden she was creating in her back yard. Her soft words, her commitment to spreading peace, made me realize that I, too, could carry the message of peace to others.

All of us can.

ACHIEVED BY UNDERSTANDING...
“Peace cannot be kept by force. It can only be achieved by understanding.” ~ Albert Einstein

If Helen could transform her backyard into a place for others to come and mediate and pray for peace, why couldn’t I do the same virtually?

So that’s my latest Daily Celebrations project. I’m working on a Virtual Peace Garden where everyone can come, leave a prayer for themselves or others. More than a message board, it will be a place to mediate, celebrate, and share. A sanctuary, a fertile creative outlet. Somewhere to grow positive energy and reap tranquil memories.

RESPONSIBILITY...
"A garden is an awful responsibility. You never know what you may be aiding to grow in it." ~ Charles Dudley Warner

What seeds shall we plant to spread peace and celebrate life?

ALWAYS THE GARDEN...
“When the world wearies, and society ceases to satisfy, there is always the garden.” ~ Minnie Aumonier

HEART IS AT PEACE...
"When my heart is at peace, the world is at peace." ~ Chinese Proverb

The art of using plants to restore health is an old as mankind because there is such a deep holistic nature to all things. A garden is life-giving, full of vibrant flowers, trees, and colors. A celebration of life, a garden can heal, teach, and open the mind to new ideas.
