April 19 ~  I Much Prefer a Compliment Being & Time

"I much prefer a compliment, insincere or not, to sincere criticism." ~ Plautus

priceless gift of compliments

There is a priceless gift in every compliment you give someone and it only costs the time it takes to observe and care. For me, the fastest way to make myself happy is to make others happy.

"Too often, we underestimate the power of a touch, a smile, a kind word, a listening ear...an honest compliment, or the smallest act of caring... all of which have the potential to turn a life around," shared relationship expert Leo Buscaslia.

We all need validation. We all want to feel that we matter. With encouragement, the heart expands. With understanding and kindness, sweet smiles become contagious.

"I can live two months on one good compliment." observed humorist Mark Twain.

Criticism and putdowns are easy. As Dale Carnegie once said, "Any fool can criticize, condemn, and complain, and most fools do." So choose kindness and generate positive results. Don't postpone the opportunity. Imagine all the good you can do.

As speech writer Robert Orben put it, "A compliment is verbal sunshine."

Spread sunshine by giving someone a genuine compliment today, with all the sincerity that you can, and watch the magical results!

Make someone's day today with a heartfelt compliment.
